Game 2:
Key Info:
- Dillon Gee pitched a fantastic 6 innings allowing one run, also striking out six.
- Ruben Tejada, David Wright, Willie Harris and Nick Evans all had big games combining for 8 hits.
- Jose Reyes had a hit in his first game back from the DL.
- Manny Acosta, Pedro Beato and Bobby Parnell all finished the game with an inning of shutout relief.
Some Thoughts:
The outing from the Mets tonight was one of the best games of baseball I've seen the Mets play in a couple weeks. The pitching from Gee was fantastic, along with the relief which was stellar.
Gee was in the form he started out the season in, his command and composure looked amazing.
Followed by the relief pitching which has struggled as of late, but they were able to put together three innings of scoreless pitching.
Also this game was one of the first times in a while the Mets were swinging the bat a lot more aggressively which ended up turning out for the better.
Very impressed Jose Reyes looked great in his first game back to the majors.
Also everyone should be giving credit to Ruben Tejada who had a beautiful play covering first on a bunt attempt that he grabbed with his bare hand coming across the bag.
Game 1:
The Mets took game 1 of the day night double header against the Marlins.

- Lucas Duda continues his hot streak by going 3-4.

- Nick Evans had a two hit game to continue his hot streak.
- Jason Isringhausen pitched a scoreless 8th inning.
- Although, Bobby Parnell allowed a home run in the 9th he got it together and picked his 7th save of the season.
Some Thoughts:
R.A looked fantastic tonight winning his first game since July 25th. His knuckle ball looked on tonight, also he looked a lot more focused on the bump.
I was very impressed with Duda's hitting keeping his hot streak alive.

Is it worth giving up Wright?
By now everyone has herd the recent rumors that David Wright had cleared waivers and the Colorado Rockies were interested in dealing for him.
Just to let you know when Wright cleared waivers a couple weeks ago that meant he could be dealt to any team if there was an offer made for him when he was claimed by the team.
According to SI John Heyman the Rockies shot down the rumor by saying they never claimed him and this happened a while back. Lets just go over Wrights numbers with the Mets all time.
Although it has been a slow year for Wright lingered by injuries, overall he has been a huge asset to the Mets throughout his career
Opinion:
Giving up Wright for a couple a prospects in my opinion is a horrible idea, Wright is still young at 28 and only is in his 7th year of his career. He has a lifetime .302 batting avg. and over 700 RBIs in just 7 years. Wright is still a superstar no matter his struggles this year, and if the Mets were to ship him away for a bunch a prospects I think the organization would regret it in later years.
