ESPN's Jerry Crasnick has reported that the Mets are extremely interested in acquiring Cody Ross.

Ross is currently 31, he hit .240 last year with 14 home runs and 52 RBIs.

Being that the Red Sox have just traded Marco Scutaro to the rockies, According to ESPN the Redsoxs will now be looking into acquire Roy Oswalt or Ross.

Last year with Francisco was 1-4 with a 3.55 ERA also earning 17 saves with the Blue Jays, over 54 games.

Francisco looks to be a fit in New York because of his past in Texas.  The hard throwing reliever could work in either a 7,8th inning spot or the closers spot depending one what the team does with their three new relievers.

When Torres joined the Giants last year to avoid arbitration, he hit .221 with a .312 on base percentage.  He also had four home runs and 19 RBI over 112 games.

Ramirez who also joined the team last year to avoid arbitration, went 3-3 with a 2.62 ERA pitching in 66 games.

Pending a physical Rauch will join the Mets receive 3.5 million dollars.

Last year in 53 games with the Blue Jays he was 5-4 with a 4.85 ERA with 11 saves over 16 attempts.

Rauch coming off a below par year with the Blue Jays will look to revive his career with the Mets.  Rauch has the potential to be the Mets closer, and a reliable on at that.

News broke last night that Jose Reyes has accepted the Miami
Marlins’ offer of 111 million dollars over 6 years .  Reyes, being one of the largest free agents
on the market was expected to rack in the big bucks this offseason.  Clearly it was either that the Mets were not
fully convinced to resign Reyes because of his injury prone past or just the
fact that he was too much of an expense.
Well now there is nothing to do that could get him back, so what will
the Mets do now?

Many have the opinion that they should start an ultimate
rebuilding process. Some have said that they should go after a major free
agent.  In my opinion I think they should
ship Wright for Hanley Ramirez.   This
might sound absurd because the Marlins just signed Jose and are looking to build
the team up.  According to the Miami
Herald Hanley had said “I’m the shortstop right now
and I consider myself a shortstop” and would not address the situation of his
position change any more.  If you’d ask
me I’d have say that Hanley does not want to move from his home at
shortstop.  Since the Mets have had interest
in moving Wright the Marlins could be a possibility. In addition to the Mets
and their interest in moving Wright, Hanley could soon demand a trade due to
him having to move positions. If it was Jose moving positions on the Marlins I would
think that there would be no chance of this deal.  Jose will be staying at short stop so most likely we will hear soon where Hanley plans to play next season whether it be position or team.
